Conclusion: The students have found that both Paper and Plastic have the best heat retention properties. We believe that these results are because Plastic and Paper are very good heat insulators.
Question: Does the material that hot water is placed inside of, affect water temperature over time?
Design/Plan: One student will pour the hot water and another student will measure the temperature of the water with the probe. Purpose: To find if hot water's temperature will drop differently if placed in cup's of different materials.
Materials:
3 Different Cups ( Ceramic, Paper, and Plastic).
Hot Water.
Temperature Probe.
Timer.
Paper and Pencil.
Steps:
Take one of the cups and pour the hot water into it.
Measure the temperature with the Probe. Record the Data.
Let 2 minutes pass, measure this by using the Timer.
